Nigeria welcomes Pan-African Women Expo

The Nigeria chapter of New Faces New Voices (NFNV) is set to host its first-ever Pan-African Women EXPO scheduled for 8th to 22nd October, 2018 in Abuja, Nigeria. The expo which promises investment, networking, trade promotion opportunities and viable exchange of products and services will be attended by close to 1000 participants from across 18 African countries. This was announced by Country Director of NFNV Nigeria chapter Aishatu Debola.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gender Lens Investment Showcase

 

 

 

24th May 2018, Dar es Salam, Tanzania

New Faces New Voices (NFNV) Tanzania chapter collaborated with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to showcase the Gender Lens Investment programme which sought to bring female entrepreneurs to the forefront of pitching their business ideas for investor funding prospects. We are inspired and proud of Salome Mauki, Agatha Kyogero and Emelda Mwamanga who presented their ideas and won top three prizes. The first runner up for the pitch was Agatha for her Agribusiness Shop in rice annual revenues $76,000 investment ask $ 25,000 and second runner up was Relim Company Ltd, retail and magine whose current annual revenues is $118,000 and asked for an investment capital of $35,000.

Graça Machel Trust participates in Bubbles and Blockchain Women’s Day event

The Graça Machel Trust’s Women in Finance Network Programme Manager, Dorothy Mpyisi-Adebanjo attended the Women’s Month 2018, Bubbles and Blockchain event. Bubbles and Blockchain hosted an all-women event in Johannesburg to provide insights into Blockchain and their work, as well as ‘special contributions from key female ‘influencers’ in technology who shared their thoughts on blockchain and lessons learnt as women in tech. Dorothy appreciated how it looks to foster collaborations, learning and networking opportunities in the blockchain space, and act as a convener and community builder for entrepreneurs interested in blockchain in South Africa.
