Eligibility: Open to individuals aged 18–35 in Kenya, Malawi, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania or Zambia with an existing business and an innovative idea. 

Business category exclusion: The business concept can be a wide range of categories, excluding sectors not aligned with the work and values of the Graça Machel Trust, such as adult entertainment, hunting for sport, etc.   

Re-Entry: Concepts previously entered are not eligible unless upgraded by at least 60%. Judges will evaluate only the enhancements.

Confidentiality: All submissions will be kept private, with access limited to authorized personnel under a non-disclosure agreement and adhere to protection of personal information laws in each country.

Liability: WCW and its partners are not responsible for any losses incurred during or after the challenge. 

Prizes: None of the prizes will be converted to cash – the runners up and winner will receive business development services to the value stated.

Deadlines and changes: WCW may extend deadlines, cancel categories or amend terms without notice. 

Entry process: Participation is free, but entries must follow the official format and be submitted by the deadline. 

Media use / publicity: The Graça Machel Trust retains the right to publicise the entrants and or winners as part of promoting its work. The organisation will always do this respectfully. 

Intellectual property: The Graça Machel Trust will not use the business ideas submitted as their own. Patentable information must be marked for protection. 

Correspondence: Due to the volume of entries, the Graça Machel Trust will not be able to revert to all competition entrants. Therefore, only shortlisted entries will be contacted within 4 to 6 weeks of submission.  

It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that all contact information is correct, they check it frequently and are responsive when contacted.  

Jurisdiction: Terms are governed by the laws of the relevant jurisdiction.
