MULTIPLYING FACES, AMPLIFYING VOICES

Placing women’s voices at the centre of Africa’s growth

We are networking and building a critical mass of highly qualified, active, and effective women across the continent to become a voice in areas where they are currently underrepresented. Our key focus sectors include women in business, women in finance, women in agriculture, and women in science and technology. We also support women involved in social policy areas, where we believe it is strategic to do so. We are committed to ensuring that each network is sustainable over the long term, thereby fostering and adding weight to African women’s voices on matters that affect various aspects of the continent.

BUILDING A VISION FOR THE FUTURE OF AFRICAN CHILDREN

A vision for the African Child

Every child deserves to begin his or her life with the best possible foundation. The Trust supports networks and activists who work to create this foundation. We focus on combatting malnutrition, promoting global coverage of immunisation, and ending child marriage by supporting legal reform and promoting girls’ education. We also support the health and wellbeing of all women, ensuring that those who choose to have children have access to the best quality information and services for themselves and their children.

PROMOTING WOMEN LEADERSHIP IN GOVERNANCE AND DEMOCRACY

We support women’s political participation and leadership across the continent. Our goal is to ensure that women are part of important regional and national conversations that impact on peace, democracy and good governance. Under the leadership of Mrs Machel, the Trust amplifies her efforts by ensuring she and other women advocates can access reliable research. We also aim to create a thinking space for women leaders in the form of leadership retreats and special forums to strengthen their advocacy work while building their prowess in navigating the corridors of power and policy influence.
