The Partnership for Maternal, New born, and Child Health Partners' Forum, held at the Sandton Convention Centre in South Africa at the end of June, instilled a renewed sense of purpose as delegates engaged in the last stretch of the MDGs and in the final stages of the development of the Post 2015 framework.
Partner organisations are called upon to endorse the PMNCH Partners' Forum Communiqué and the linked PMNCH Post 2015 Position PMNCH Post 2015 Position Statement which will be used to guide collective advocacy for women's and children's health, particularly in the Post 2015 development agenda.
PMNCH is a global partnership that joins the reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) communities into an alliance of more than 500 members, across seven constituencies: academic, research and teaching institutions; donors and foundations; health-care professionals; multilateral agencies; non-governmental organizations; partner countries; and the private sector.
PMNCH works towards a world in which all women, newborns, children and adolescents not only are healthy, but thrive. The Partnership enables partners to share strategies, align objectives and resources, and agree on interventions to achieve more together than they would be able to achieve individually.
Mrs Machel is the chair of the PMNCH board.
